Hundreds of children and their parents showed up to participate in A Day for Kids at the Boys & Girls Clubs, Chuck Hill Unit in Port St. Lucie. It was an outstanding day, filled with a variety of family activities and togetherness.
A Day for Kids is a National event that is held in September each year. The purpose is to invite adults and kids to take one day to celebrate what it means to be a kid! “We had a great turnout,” said Will Armstead, Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County. “We are thankful for our sponsors. Without their support, events like this would not be possible.”
One of the main attractions was a basketball tournament featuring teams from each of the club houses. “We had a great time watching the teams compete,” said Karen Gordon, President of Paradise Homes and sponsor of the tournament. “It was exciting to see how much local talent we have, the sportsmanship and camaraderie were incredible.”
It was a beautiful day filled with bounce houses, food trucks, games, information and quality time for parents and their children to enjoy together. For additional photos of the day’s activities, please visit bgcofslc.org.
